News

August 2006

she was a cutie eating some sushi ...

The eagle eyed will spot from the August EOTMC poster that this is to be the penultimate BOZiLLA show at full trio power... for our Aimee is moving to Japan in October for at least 12 months

To mark this we are going to be doing give-a-ways at the next two eotmc's.

in August we shall be giving away thirty pink cd's on a Japanese / BOZiLLA flavour
namely

1 - Do you like my cookies
2 - Ichi the Killer
3 - sionarra Soccer (live)
4- Miyamoto
5- He believes in the value of the plane ( live )

This will be the one and only time we will be making, many peoples fav track, Ichi the killer available in recorded form. So if you want a copy make sure you're one of the first people to pay in on August  31st.

EOTMC  will continue after the 30th of September, which will be designated EOTAC . The name Stylodub may be seen more regularly depending on how we feel or may be  BO(y)ZiLLA, or in tribute to ELO BOZiLLA2,  or just BOZiLLA as has been the case will all non vocal output to date. So come help us see off the final two months of the five years and seven month stint of music, mirth and only one argument ( about halloween costumes ! ).

by the by you should really check out our guests via

JULY 2006

MP3 of the Month #1

Over the next wee while we are going to be posting, for limited time periods, a bunch of free  MP3's. Some of these were on the debut EP and some aren't. Some very old, some very new. It's a handy new feature we like to call MP3 of the Month. This month from the EP it's the WOC 100 & Omnichordtastic favourite Awkwardly Dance. This shall be available from our MP3 page until the 20th of August.

Upcoming Gigs

We are joined by regular bootleg mash-up VJ Thriftshop XL and a range of fine electropop(ish) guests from across the UK. And we've been going for four and a half years !

MY SPACE

You can now hear a couple of tracks from our debut EP and keep up to date with our happenings via http://www.myspace.com/bozillabozilla ( hence the tardiness of our main site updates )

PRESS & PAGE CHANGES

We've now substituted the gig photo archive for a Press page where you can read what others have thought of our EP & live shows. We've had some more reviews come in in the last month, including one in Italian (any linguists please help out as online tools just feed us back nonsense). Also we've received a rather glowing  mention in Mark Moore's column for QX Magazine. A general photo/ image page will follow in due course.

old news can be found below ----------------------------------------------------------------

"this is not new sound" -  radio pt2

Rather unexpectedly and flatteringly Steve Lamaqc played "this is not new sound" on both his Radio 6 show (31.10.04) and his Radio 1 show (1.11.04). This had led to a bunch of people checking the site out and buying the EP. So thanks to all of you who did. We've also been contacted about some rather interesting matters, we'll say more when we can. See kids negativland were right "radio works... radio delivers".

You can hear the intro and first minute of our play on Radio 6 on the MP3 page. You'll see why we were happy, excited, sad and rather humbled all at the same time.

Ents 24 have upgraded EOTMC to "legendary" status in our preview biog. Which is nice of them.

The next "legendary" end of the month club features the rather sublime LYNSKEY,  journeying up to Glasgow from Manchester for the very first time, and takes place on Tuesday 30th November.

 EP reviews, radio, retail

The "this is not new Sound" EP was launched rather nicely at September's EOTMC and is now available to buy via the web  for £4 inc P&P or at Monorail and Avalanche Records in Glasgow. The negotiations to get it in Fopp for under a fiver are still on-going!

We have  received some great support from the Scottish media with a mini review in The Metro - which, we are told, described us as masterful "electro-pop assassins" and was rather positive, but we didn't manage to snaffle a copy (it was the September Holiday Monday edition if any of you are hoarders). We've also received quite a few radio plays courtesy of the Beatscene on Beat 106, and Fallout on Radio Magnetic.

And most recently we gained a glowing review on the Alternative Nation Webzine site.

To say we are a bit pleased is a mighty understatement.

We'd like to thank all of you who've picked up a copy so far and thank you for all your feedback.

EP Release date & launch gig

Bozilla's debut ep is going to be released on the first of October 2004, with September's end of the month club the night before as the launch event (Thursday 30th September in the 13th Note Cafe, Glasgow).

You can pre-order your copy at the EOTMC Recordings site for £4 inc P&P (click the logo to get there)

Debut CD EP Release Coming soon

Bozilla have finally listened to all the folk who ask them where they can get copies of their music and over the summer recorded a five track EP entitled "This is not new sound". The tracks shall be ....

The Box that Got Away, This is Not New Sound, Awkwardly Dance, Back Row and Fingernail

The initial pressing shall be on rather fabulous purple metallic CD's. Details of the release date, how to get a hold of a copy and promotional gigs shall appear on the site soon.

We can how ever reveal the front artwork looks like this...

Open to Offers

BOZiLLA're also aiming to venture away from our home from home on a more regular basis. So we're definitely open to offers of gigs near and far. Should you fancy making such an offer e-mail bozilla@eotmc.com .

Bozilla have been described as Glasgow's

"electro disco favourites" by the big grown up Guardian newspaper.. which was rather nice of them.
